This is our newly acquired Cidan Model F32 Folder Year 2021 (126′′ x 16ga.) s/n 87907-10 which comes with the Small & Large Bending Bars, and the 40′′ Back Gauge, Manual Crowning, Wired 230V/3ph
This late model CIDAN Model F Series brake is extremely quick and easy to use, built in a sturdy all-welded construction. The F Series is built for continuous running under the most demanding conditions. The machine is adapted for all types of folding of thinner materials.
The reinforced side frames insure steady guiding of the clamping beam and folding beam. The clamping beam is eccentric driven which eliminates wear and tear during movement as well as providing the best possible opening and closing speeds. The eccentric drive eliminates adjustment of parameters during the life of machine, which insures long life on the clamping motor. When clamping, the eccentric enables very high clamping pressure, which is a great advantage when closing hems.
The clamping beam face is at 45 degrees and the nose bar is positioned at 30 degrees, which enables you to form 146 degrees. The upper nose tooling is made from hard 42CrMo4 steel with a .040” (1.0mm) radius nose. The upper beam is twin driven for true parallel-ism during clamping. This will allow you to accurately form bump radius parts. Also, enables closed tear drop hem on 24ga (.61mm) mild steel
Automatic material thickness sensors prevent machine from over clamping on thick Material, prolonging the life of the machine. These sensors are also helpful for clamping soft material, as the control can adjust the clamping pressure between 0 and 100% or by position.
Upper Clamping beam has 2.24” (57mm) of clearance on both sides of the clamping tool. This allows the option of longer tooling if required.
Underneath the clamping beam there is 1.93” (49mm) of relief, this is great for parts that require greater work space such as vented ridge caps.
The upper beam has 126” (3,200mm) long tooling in 31.5” (800mm) segments. Segments can be changed out if damage occurs.
Upper nose tooling is made from hard 42CrMo4 steel with .040” (1.0mm) radius nose
The bayonet tooling system enables operators to quickly change the folding blade tools, minimizing setup time. In-stead of removing the bolts completely, only loosening them will allow operators to slide the tooling off. One of the blades is dual sided, 0.275” (7mm) on one side and 0.396” (10mm) on the other.
The folding beam has a standard crowning adjustment for forming various material types and thicknesses without compromising straightness of 10.6’ (3,200mm) parts.
This is a big advantage, especially for radius work, as it offers a faster and more accurate setup that replaces the need to shim.
Easy adjustment of the material thickness on the folding beam allows for quick change-over from job to job. It is easy as loosening the handle and turning the dial to the appropriate thickness that is shown on the gradient scale.
The folding beam has a width of 2” (52mm) with a 1.5” (38mm) reinforced weldment plate for long and continuously stable folding.
The lower beam tooling is made from hard 42CrMo4 steel with 38Rc. The solid lower beam tool will also prevent any sensitive or light gauge material from getting damaged, scratched or in-dentations during clamping.
The EGS Back gauge System has a range of 0.080” to 39.4” (1.97 to 1000mm) with two rows of stations, tempered spring steel in the front, and solid fingers in the back. This allows the back gauge to travel from any depth in about 2 seconds. All gauging fingers have the ability to drop down automatically. This will allow an operator to conveniently use the back gauge table to rotate parts without damage or collision to the gauging fingers or Material. The back gauge panels can also be pulled back for flexibility and additional workspace behind the lower beam tool for demanding parts.
This back gauge has a robust servo motor and belt drive for accurate positioning of +/- 0.004” (0.1mm).
2 linear bearing guides will ensure that the back gauge will remain parallel for many years.
The ProLink W program is developed specifically for CIDAN folding machines and offers unlimited possibilities. From start to finish, ProLink W is designed for even an inexperienced operator to comfortably navigate, program, proof, and easily form parts. The 18.5” wide touch screen is mounted on a swivel arm that can be rotated for optimal viewing.
There are two ways of programming:
1. Graphically, by drawing the profile.
2. Line by Line, by entering values for the folding angles, back gauge dimensions, clamping pressure, opening heights, and other parameters in the programing list.
There are three profile storage directories:
1. Standard tab (profiles that are included with the machine)
2. Custom tab (profiles that are designed and saved through the graphic mode)
3. Line by Line tab (profiles that are designed and saved through the Line by Line mode).
Programs can be found in a matter of seconds with the profile search mode, regardless of how many programs are stored.
Networking capabilities with the ProLink W Offline software is also available as an option. This will give you the flexibility to run ProLink W on a remote laptop or office computer. Files can also be backed up, imported and exported through a USB drive.
