SCHECHTL MAB 14-gauge CNC FOLDER

Description

This is a MAB310 Folding Machine that was removed from a shop last month when their new up/down folder arrived. This machine will be cleaned and tested, but everything works as it should and it is equipped with Schechtl's newest control that was installed by the factory in 2023. The MAB310's are a 14-gauge capacity folding machine. The machine has a three axis CNC system that positions the backgauge, the clamping beam and the folding beam that is controlled by an operator actuating a foot pedal. The control by means of an interactive graphic screen tells the operator when to flip and swing the part. These are the sought out folders for the demands of the architectural sheet metal professional, Sign Shop or industrial Mechanical Contractor:
1.) Parts Making Capability—The MAB3100 holds up to 3,000 programs. When it comes to complicated cornice work or long detail parts, the graphic software that show when to flip and turn the part is the only way to get accurate reliable parts.
2.) Labor Shortage -- The MAB310 typically comes loaded with 200 of the most popular programs for gutters, ridge caps, drip edges and the like. You have two programming methods: programming with the simple graphic interface or simply pull up a program in the machine and plug in new dimensions. This makes the machine usable by any employee once they are trained on safety. The control tells the operator when to flip and spin the parts so all they have to do is simply follow the screen. This allows you to put your best men on the roof rather than the hand brake.
CONTROL – The Schechtl control was designed to be easily learned and operated by operators with minimal experience in the sheet metal business.
• The Schechtl CNC control has been proven on over 1,000 folding machines around the world.
• The control is actually controlling the 3 axes of the machine: backgauge, clamping beam, and the folding beam.
• Every part can be reviewed graphically or by name.
• Two programming methods:
1. Absolute -- With this method you draw the part out on the screen and create a new graphic.
2. Incremental – With this programming method you simply pull up a part already created and enter in new dimensions.
• Cycle and Time Counter – You can keep track of how long jobs take to make sure you’re billing correctly.
• 14” Color Flat Screen -- The machine boasts a control that is clearly visible from the center of the machine.
• 3.5” Floppy Disk Drive – This is perfect for keeping jobs for one customer in one place. Just plug in the disk pull up the program and run it.

• Backgauge System – The Schechtl backgauge system has a backgauge with massive dual drives, gauging fingers warrantied for life and the speed to make parts as fast as you can feed the machine. The backgauge boasts 8 Hardened Stops on backgauge. This means no flimsy feather fingers to get damaged, therefore the operator can work at full speed.
The backgauge is driven by two 1.25” Dual Drive Ball Screws with two 1.50” Thompson rails, as pictured in the photograph below, for insuring the backgauge stays parallel. What this means is that the backgauge can take a pounding and remain parallel and accurate much longer than the plastic belts or single tiny lead screws of competitors.
Not only is the backgauge rugged, it is the most flexible with backgauge pans, that slide front to back as seen in the photo below, this allows you to use the free space behind the clamping beam for making clips or other small parts.
