Schechtl shears come standard with a 30” front operated backgauge.
The pneumatic rear sheet support holds the material up during the cutting process. Only after
the cutting is completed will the sheet support drop the material to the front. The rate of drop is
fully adjustable based on type of material. The backgauge indicator and lever lock is located on the
front/right side of the shear. Once the desired dimension is dialed in, the operator utilizes a lever to lock in place. The backgauge positioning is fast, from 0-30” in 7 seconds!
On the table bed, every 1/32” is small scribe line and every ½” is large scribe. If the part is too small for the operator to hit up against the backgauge, the scribe lines enable an operator to front gauge.
FRONT TELESCOPING SHEET SUPPORT
36” Telescoping Sheet Support is needed for one operator positioning of a new sheet to the shear.
This is superior to perpendicular sheet supports that cause the material to droop or with which the
operator collides when moving around the shear. Schechtl front sheet supports slide in and out
based on the operator’s preference. Also, the sheet supports move in when presenting a forklift to
the material wagon. Material wagon eliminates labor cost. The wagon can be moved from underneath the shear eliminating unloading while on your knees. The material wagon enables the
operator to wheel or fork-lift the whole stock to the folder! This shear is ready to ship!!
